Twenty-fifteen Sounded Like This.

Even though we’re more than a week into 2016, I’m still trying to process 2015 before focusing on ideas, thoughts, and feels on this upcoming year. I’m super fascinated by my Spotify Year in Music. In any phase of life I can pinpoint how I was feeling and who I was at the time through a song or mix CD of the era. Here’s the music that most represents my 2015:

Top Artists:

  1. Walk the Moon | 179 Streams
  2. Borns | 135 Streams
  3. Ryn Weaver | 127 Streams
  4. Misterwives | 99 Streams
  5. Hilary Duff | 75 Streams

TBH, I’m pretty surprised Hilary Duff made the top five. I do recall some days where I was listening to “All About You”on repeat, so that may have something to do with her ranking… Also, all of these artists except H. Duff were at ACL this year. Basically my taste is either spot on with ACL’s or ACL heavily influenced my listening this year.

Top Albums:

  1. Talking Is Hard by Walk The Moon | 153 Streams
  2. The Fool by Ryn Weaver | 91 Streams
  3. Our Own House by Misterwives | 72 Streams
  4. Dopamine by Borns | 58 Streams
  5. Emotion by Carly Rae Jepson | 50 Streams

I’m also pretty surprised Emotion made it into my top albums, but also not really because, damn, is that a solid pop record. If you haven’t checked it out you should seriously get over any “Call Me Maybe” hold ups that have been preventing your ears from experiencing this joy.

Top Tracks:

  1. Cake by The Ocean by DNCE | 27 Streams
  2. Electric Love by Borns | 27 Streams
  3. Celeste by Ezra Vine | 26 Streams
  4. Work this Body by Walk the Moon | 26 Streams
  5. Be Ok by Oh Honey | 25 Streams

Top Genres:

  1. Indetronica
  2. Indie Pop
  3. Pop
  4. Shimmer Pop
  5. Dance Pop

Ummm, I have zero clue what the actual fuck shimmer pop is, but I’m very into it being one of my top genres.

In 2015 I listened to 21 thousand minutes of music or 344 hours or 14 days.

Those minutes, hours, and days were from 1542 different artists and 3625 different tracks.

You can listen to my top artists, albums, and tracks here:

Oh, and since Taylor Swift isn’t on Spotify, you should probably assume that she’s had a few hundred plays this year too.
